Serhii Tokarev: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer just a tech buzzword—it’s becoming a vital part of everyday life and business. Speaking at Web Summit 2024, Serhii Tokarev, co-founder and partner at Roosh Ventures, shares his thoughts on how AI is transforming industries and opening new doors.
He makes it quite evident that artificial intelligence is not only the future; it is occurring right now.
“Artificial intelligence will become commonplace,” says Serhii Tokarev, who also makes the point that Web Summit demonstrates that this is no longer only a fad; rather, it is becoming an integral part of how we live, work, and develop on a daily basis.
How AI Is Changing Different Fields:
AI is already making big waves across industries, making businesses more efficient and solving complex problems. According to Serhii Tokarev, AI’s impact stretches beyond offices and factories to areas like science, sustainability, and even creative work:
- Science: Studies in the fields of genomes, climate studies, and medicine development are all being accelerated by artificial intelligence. Scientists are able to conduct experiments more efficiently and evaluate data more quickly as a result of this.
- Sustainability: AI is helping to conserve resources, enhance agricultural techniques, and maintain biodiversity, all of which contribute to longer-term sustainability.
- Ecology: In the field of ecology, climate models are being improved, and researchers are receiving assistance in responding more promptly to environmental concerns.
At the same time, these advancements bring new challenges. Serhii Tokarev pointed out the growing importance of cybersecurity to protect both individuals and businesses.
“Cybersecurity and cyber hygiene will become the new normal for everyone in their personal lives and a necessity for companies. We must realize this, accept it, and start implementing it in our daily lives and businesses,” adds Tokarev.
AI in Everyday Life:
Tools driven by artificial intelligence have rapidly become everyday conveniences. Millions of people use ChatGPT and other applications to pick up fresh skills, send letters, or even create artistic works. Fans of all ages are also drawn to generative artificial intelligence programs that produce code, music, or art from basic directions.
Serhii Tokarev argues that artificial intelligence is changing the employment market as well as tools. By 2025, the World Economic Forum projects 97 million new employment generated worldwide by artificial intelligence. But as businesses embrace automation in sectors such customer service and haulage, it is predicted to replace 85 million jobs.
Serhii Tokarev explains that AI is changing the workforce, making some roles obsolete but also creating entirely new ones. “We understand this, that’s why we founded SET University in Ukraine—to provide innovative higher education for future leaders of the technology industry.”

Looking Ahead:
The future of AI is full of exciting possibilities. Imagine personalized learning tools that adapt to your style or AI in healthcare that offers customized advice based on your needs. AI is on track to become an invisible but indispensable part of daily life, making everything from education to health more accessible and effective.
Still, with these advancements come responsibilities. Serhii Tokarev emphasizes the need for businesses and individuals to embrace AI while also preparing for its challenges, such as cybersecurity and workforce changes.
